Local guidance and help for Nampa (Canyon County) homes and businesses.
Serving Boise, Nampa & the Treasure Valley. Tell us what happened and a local restoration company can call you back.
If there is active fire, smoke you cannot explain, or a gas smell, leave the building and call 911.
Nampa has grown quickly, and much of its housing is newer: subdivisions built since the 1990s on slabs and crawlspaces, mixed with older homes near downtown and along the original neighborhoods around Lakeview Park, plus rural properties and manufactured homes on the edges of town toward Kuna, Caldwell and Lake Lowell. The damage people deal with here reflects that mix: crawlspace leaks in newer homes, aging plumbing and wiring in older ones, and wind, grass fire and irrigation issues on larger lots.
Kitchen fires and dryer vents are the usual starting points indoors. On the edges of town, wind-driven grass fires in summer can reach fences, sheds and outbuildings, and smoke from regional wildfires settles into the valley in late summer. Manufactured homes can suffer heavy smoke damage quickly because of their smaller interior volume. See the fire damage and smoke damage guides for what to do and what to ask your insurer.
Cleanup and drying usually do not require a permit. Rebuild work such as structural, electrical, plumbing and mechanical repairs generally does. Inside city limits, permits go through the City of Nampa Building Department; properties outside city limits go through Canyon County. Ask the contractor who will pull the permit. Before you sign, look up the contractor's Idaho registration with the Division of Occupational and Professional Licenses (DOPL).
Requests come from across Nampa, including downtown, the Lakeview Park area, Midland and the Karcher corridor, south Nampa toward Lake Lowell, and the areas north of I-84, as well as Caldwell, Kuna, Meridian and Middleton. Tell us your area in the form and a company that works there can call you back.
This site connects you with independent local restoration contractors. We are not a contractor and do not perform or guarantee the work.
